Milena Govich - Biography

Milena Govich first gained national attention on television in CBS's Love Monkey, then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me. She also starred in the Dick Wolf series Conviction which led to her role as the first and only female detective on the Emmy winning series, Law & Order. She has been featured or recurred on numerous other television shows: K-Ville (FOX); The Defenders (CBS); Make It or Break It (ABC Family); and now as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama, Finding Carter. Govich has also appeared in several movies, including Sordid Things, A Novel Romance, starring opposite Steve Guttenberg, the upcoming feature Lucky N#mbr, starring opposite Method Man, and Pass the Light.

A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Govich was the valedictorian of her high school class before she completed a double major in vocal performance and pre-med at the University of Central Oklahoma, also graduating valedictorian. Soon after, she moved to New York and appeared on Broadway in the musical revival of Cabaret. She began in the role of Lulu, featuring her singing, dancing, and playing violin, and was the understudy and eventual replacement for the lead role, Sally Bowles. Govich also performed on Broadway in the musical revival of The Boys from Syracuse and in the musical Good Vibrations. She starred as Millie in the first regional production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Govich still performs on stage between TV and film projects. Most recently, she starred in the title role of Sweet Charity at The Lyric Theatre and regularly performs in Los Angeles in the popular For the Record concert series.
