Mirtha Michelle - Biography

Mirtha Michelle was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on January 17th 1984. At five years old her parents, Jose and Mirtha moved the family to Miami, Florida. She grew up in a very close-knit family, also consisting of her older sister Cathryn and younger brother Jose Angel. Her parents' own love for the Arts was imparted unto them. At an early age, Her father a trained musician, and her mother a local theater director were supportive of her desire to act. At 16 she landed a spot on the cast of "By Kids for Kids", a show on WPLG the ABC affiliate in Miami. An experience that allowed her to host, write and produce for television. When she began her College Studies at F.I.U, she began studying theater and fell in love with the adrenaline of the stage, and there was no looking back. At 19 she auditioned for a small part in an independent film in Miami, she impressed the director and walked away with a co-starring role. The film was later released under the Lions Gate umbrella, and it motivated her to pursue a career in acting. During this time she also co-starred in the independent and film festival favorite "Harder they fall". As she continued to gain experience in Miami, she began dabbling into Modeling. She became a finalist in the J.Lo model search, which lead her to commercial and music video work in Miami. In 2006 she relocated to Los Angeles to actively pursue a career in TV and Film. Since then she has co-starred in T.V shows like "CSI:Miami", "CSI", Comedy Central's "American Bodyshop"., TNT's "Dark Blue" also appeared in Films like "The Gift A.D. ", "This Christmas",the independent family drama "Jada", and the Preston Whitmore produced "Doughboys". In April 2009 she appeared in the Box office Hit "Fast and Furious"sharing scenes with Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, and Latin Megastars Don Omar and Tego Calderon. She also appeared in the Pre-quel short to "Fast & Furious" titled "Los Bandoleros" directed by Vin Diesel. Currently she studies at The Imagined Life with Diana Castle.
