Mónica Huarte - Biography

Mónica Huarte was born in México City. She studied theatre at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, an acting degree at the Foro de la Ribera in México City and has taken acting lessons at the Estudio Juan Carlos Corazza in Madrid, Spain and in the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre in Los Angeles. She has done plenty of theatre plays such as The shape of things directed by Antonio Serrano, the musical Avenue Q in México City playing Kate Monster and Lucy, Bazaar and Rummage, the mexican musical Mentiras among others and has acted in movies like Cansada de besar sapos (2007) for which she received a Silver Goddess for her role as Daniela, Volverte a ver (2008) for which she received another Silver Goddes as best supporting actress, Casi Divas (2008), Efectos Secundarios (2006), Malos hábitos (2005/I), Sin ton ni Sonia (2003) among others. She is well known for her comedy skills and has done Stand up Comedy shows written by herself. She published her first comedy play called Terapia para la sed. In 2010 she acted in the movie Without Men with Eva Longoria and Christian Slater in a lead role.
