Nandini Raani Iyer - Biography

Born overseas, she lived with her maternal grandparents for the first 4 years of her life while her parents took the once in a lifetime opportunity to settle a foundation for their family in America. At age 4, Rani was finally brought to "the land of the free and the home of the brave" where she grew up in Queens and Upstate, New York. Having already completed her Education to the 1st Grade Level and fluently speaking 7 languages, she was unfortunately forced to restart her Education at the Pre-K Level and completely learn the English Language to a Conversational Level before entering school. Rani's struggling environments and relationships with people became the portfolio of life experiences that developed her early maturity and molded her as an Organic Artist. She was not only extremely timid before age of 12, but also an "old soul with a wise mind in a creative young body." Rani's self-discovery as an Artist started from the age of 5 singing in the Choir, playing instruments in Music, drawing and painting in Visual Arts, to self-defense in Martial Arts and expressing herself through Dance. The first turning point in Rani's life began on a rainy afternoon at age 12. Having moved into a new town in Suburban, New Jersey from her City Life in New York she was always apprehensive of taking the bus home. Rani's mom was delayed to pick her up from school and the Director and Producer of the School's Fall Theatre Production enforced a strict policy that in order to be permitted to wait in the School's auditorium, till her mom arrived, Rani would have to audition for the play. It was during this incident that Rani took the policy very seriously and committed to excelling in her audition being that it meant the world to her to not wait outside in the rain. Incidentally, she was then selected to play one of the Lead Roles. Upon being selected she committed herself to what she naively viewed as "an after-school activity to escape her domestic life." Rani was yet realize that her self-discovery as an Actress and commitment to the entirety of her craft for the Production, would then be staged in front of 1,000 people, reward her with a standing ovation, have 200 roses fly to her feet onstage during her finale bow, along with several Flower Bouquets and Compliments individually given to her from strangers after the Show for her unforgettable performance! The following Spring, Rani tapped into every vocal chord she stroke in all her years being in the Choir to audition for the more competitive Musical Theatre Production. Her soulful and melodious clarity in singing, along with being the only one to effortlessly reach an F major scaled piece of music, the Director and Producer were convinced enough to select Rani once again for the Lead Role. From age 13 on, Rani was selected to play several Lead Roles in the Theatre & Musical Theatre for which she is still known for today by her Character Names. Rani's exposure to all that the Theatre had to offer spellbound a 360-degree impact on her self-esteem and transformation as a person that would follow into her future. By age 15, Rani furthered her Artistic Studies and Mentorship at Subanjali School of Performing Arts under Suba Ramesh Parmar, Stars Theatre Academy under Tamara Lee Jacobson and Peach Craft Acting Studios under Kate Kennedy who all heavily motivated her to pursue being an Artist as a Lifelong Career. By this time Rani won several Performing Arts Awards in the fields of Drama, Music and Dance. At age 17, Raani was selected a 3rd place Finalist in the World at The Juilliard School for Drama in New York City, New York. The same year, Rani was also selected as a Finalist in the World at The Kalakshetra School of Performing Arts for Bharathanatyam Dance and Classical Voice in Chennai, India. With the guidance of her family and referral of Katherine Hood at The Juilliard School, she advanced her Artistic Studies and Higher Education at The Juilliard School's Private Conservatory Extension called The Michael Howard Studios under the honorable Michael Howard (a former Dean at The Juilliard School of Drama). Rani worked with several renowned teachers and ultimately became a Scholar not only as an Artist but in Yoga, Speech & International Entertainment Business. For the first time in her life, it was at Michael Howard Studios that Director Deborah Kampmeier unleashed Rani's fear to sing as a Commercial Soloist. Nearly months after graduating and only a few years of working Mainstream till date, Rani has traveled from New York to California completing dozens of works in the categories of: Theatre, Film, Commercial, Dance and Modeling in the Entertainment Industry. She's become a Prominent Role Model and dedicated Humanitarian of community, social service, and charitable work in our Society. With a professional, punctual, personable, inspiring, generous and humble attitude, Raani has gained an impressive Profile having several Certifications and Awards under her belt. Rani has met several prolific people to bless her path and she has been interview by Media in TV, Radio and Paper from the East Coast to the West Coast as a "Tenacious Driven Artist inspiring young ingénues of Multi-cultural Backgrounds to pursue their Dreams."

It was a silenced childhood dream for Rani that one day she would compete in front of thousands and against hundreds to win for the title of Miss India Worldwide, a pageantry founded by the very honorable Dharmatma Sarana and Neelam Saran. In 2014 she made this dream a reality and won the state title of Miss India New York Runner Up, then got selected by the Fraternity to compete for Miss India USA 2014 where she was Sashed a Top Finalist as well as Miss India Most Beautiful Eyes and Miss India Most Social Media Fans. Last year, for her Talent Rounds she sang an Original Remixed version of NSYNC's "This I promise you" and Celine Dion's "Because you loved me" and answered the Question "What is one thing you'd never do in your life?" After countless hours of dedication to represent the 2 states which were the building blocks of her foundation as an Artist, this year she competed for the title of Miss India New Jersey 2015 and WON! For her talent she wrote and sang an Original Remixed version of Adele's "Hello" and answered the question"What should a woman of Indian Origin choose as her profession? With dazzling outfits and jewelry, genuity in her personality,infectious giggles, an irresistible catwalk, intellectual and grace in her speech along with the public support is what we feel has brought her so far ahead at her first shot.

Rani competed at Miss India USA in December 2015 and is now reigning as 2016- 2017
