Niall Wright - Biography

Niall Wright was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and studied a Commerce degree at University College Dublin. He has attended the Gwyneth Murdock School of Drama from the age of four in Belfast. He completed LAMDA Examinations achieving a grade eight/Gold Medal in 2010. Niall has been performing successfully in the Belfast Music and Drama Festival for the past fifteen years presenting a range of classical and modern speeches to adjudicators. He has been acting from a young age having starred in the IFTA winning feature film Mickybo and Me in 2004 directed by Terry Loane. He also appeared in Prime Cut Theatre's production of Macbeth in the Lyric Theatre in 2002 playing the role of Fleance. Niall played the lead role in the short James (2008) which was the winner of 22 international awards, and was selected for the Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. Other credits include Brian Kirk's IFTA winning Middletown (2006), short film Solider (2005) and L.O.L (2009), a BBC NI sketch show. Last summer Niall finished shooting Good Vibrations, a new Irish feature film starring Richard Dormer and Jodie Whittaker due for general release in 2013. He most recently appeared as a series regular lead on 6Degrees, a new drama series for BBCNI TV produced by Stirling Films which aired on BBCNI in early 2012. Niall is also to star in Dani's Castle, a new 13x30 min comedy series produced by The Foundation and Zodiak Media set to transmit on CBBC UK & Northern Ireland in January 2013. He is just fresh from shooting the second series of 6Degrees which will air on BBCNI, RTE and BBC Worldwide in March 2013.
