Numa Perrier - Biography

First Generation Haitian American, Numa Perrier is an actress, visual artist, filmmaker, and pioneer of online entertainment. She is Co-Founder of the network Black&SexyTV where she nurtures projects from script to screen. She is the co-writer and star of the popular series "The Couple" which landed a development deal with HBO with Spike Lee attached as Executive Producer.

Numa is co-creator and writer for the network's hit series Roomieloverfriends (BET) and is creator and director of the controversial mockumentary, Yellow : The Pleasures and Problems of the Light Skinned Black Man. She's responsible for co-writing and developing crowd favorite Hello Cupid, (Official Selection Tribeca NOW 2014), She also co-created the networks first all male talk show Minute Man, as well as series Becoming Nia, and Sexless. She has been at the helm of several short films in the dramatic, experimental, and fashion genres.

Numa's work as a trans-media artist exploring themes of identity, the feminine landscape, sensuality, and unconventional family dynamics, has her in the forefront of emerging contemporary artists. She creates primarily film, video, and large scale installation works.

Numa was selected as 1 of 6 honorees for Tribeca Film Institutes inaugural writers fellowship program - Through Her Lens for her script Jezebel.
