Odeya Rush was born in Haifa, Israel, to parents Maia and Shlomo. She has six brothers (including two sets of twins). When she was nine her family moved to the US so her father could take a job in Alabama as a security consultant. Two years later the family moved to the New York City area so Odeya could pursue acting. By age 12 she had booked many commercials, short films and print jobs, and then transitioned to film and television. Within a year she had worked on the hit TV series Larry et son nombril (2000) and New York - Unité spéciale (1999), then landed a co-starring role in the film The Odd Life of Timothy Green (2012).
In the beginning of 2013 she moved to Los Angeles with her family. She subsequently co-starred opposite Sarah Hyland in the dramedy See You in Valhalla (2015), and played the female lead role in the Weinstein Company's The Giver (2014), opposite Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. After wrapping "The Giver', Odeya was cast in female lead in Sony Pictures' Chair de Poule - Le Film (2015) opposite Jack Black.
