Rachel Hendrix is an American actress best known for playing the female lead, Hannah Lawson, in the family drama "October Baby" (2012). Rachel was born and raised in Alabama. She attended The University of Montevallo in Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography. She was introduced to filmmaker Kris Kimlin (Mom's Night Out, Coffee Shop) and was offered the lead role in his first short film, Letting Go, as a pitch for the short-lived reality show "On The Lot", produced by Steven Speilberg and Mark Burnett. Her career began when she accepted the role in at the age of 21.

Jon Erwin of The Erwin Brothers (The Cross and the Towers, The Mysterious Islands), a directing duo from Alabama and colleagues of Kimlin's saw the short film and began casting Hendrix in commercials and music videos throughout her studies to become a photographer. Since then, the screen beckoned. After graduating, Hendrix moved to Switzerland with her husband only to continue her acting career through a maintained relationship with Jon and Andy Erwin who in 2009 created a show, casting Hendrix as the lead, on Halogen Network's three episode pilot ALUMNI which aired in over five million homes. After months of development, Hendrix accepted a role written with her in mind to play, and garnered national acclaim for her inaugural debut in the 2011 award-wining film, October Baby. The film's release launched her acting career. In June 2013 Hendrix was seen opposite The Walton's Ralph Waite on the INSP's first ever original short-from mini series, Old Henry, a poignant drama that respectfully confronts the subject of aging in America.

Rachel will next be seen opposite Scott Eastwood in the film The Perfect Wave set to release in February 2014. Hendrix will also be seen supporting Andrew Cheney (Beyond the Mask, Seasons of Gray) in Day 77, an Echolight Studios film in conjunction with Liberty Universities' Cinematic Arts Department in a drama about a young man who continues to wake up on the same day. The film is set to release in 2014. Gary Voelker's short film, Abound, starring Hendrix and History Channel's Killing Lincoln's rising star actor, Josh Murray, received four nominations including best lead actress at the 168 Film Festival. The film is set to tour other festivals in 2014.

Rachel's two most recent projects, one being a Robert Whitlow adaptation to his critically acclaimed novel, Mountaintop, directed by Gary Wheeler (The Trial, Jimmy, The List) will come to theaters in May of 2014. The other is a short film with first time director Alex Lerma, with Hendrix as Jessica, a young recently blind woman who is saved by an unlikely passerby played by Greg Allen Williams (Baywatch, Remember the Titans, Necessary Roughness).
