Raresh DiMofte - Biography

Jessie Richardson Award Nominee - Raresh DiMofte is a professional actor with relevant experience in film, TV & theatre. He holds a BA in Drama from the Faculty of Theatre, Babes-Bolyai University in Romania. Radu Teampãu, his Acting Coach during University, is still mentoring him on a regular basis, challenging him continuously and helping him further develop his craft.

Between 2006 and 2007 Raresh booked recurring and episodic roles in TV series such as such as La Bloc and Vocea Inimii, did plays and appeared in various commercials in Bucharest, Romania.

Raresh moved to North America with his wife in 2010 and has booked roles in American TV series (Almost Human, The Tomorrow People, iZombie, The Man in the High Castle), commercials and theatre plays.

In 2015 he received a Jessie Richardson Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his part in "Blasted" by Sarah Kane, directed by Richard Wolfe at Pi Theatre.

Raresh also enjoys working on independent projects - his own or those of other members of the local indie community, taking on not only acting roles, but also writing, directing and producing. Those projects cover both film and theatre.

He is co-founder of "Bad Icon Production$". The company, which he started with his wife Nadia, earned a distribution deal for their short film "Frailness" at Cannes Film Festival in 2014.

Raresh is also about giving back to the community and volunteers as a Programmer with Raindance Vancouver and teaches Acting at Canadian Film and TV Institute. He also collaborates as a photographer for the Events organized by Raindance Vancouver.
