Rayna Tharani - Biography

Actress and writer Rayna Tharani was born on January 13, 1980. Her early years were spent with her maternal family in Bombay, India. Her family returned to the states and Rayna grew up in San Diego, California. Always fascinated with the arts, Rayna studied dance, drama and literature from an early age. She had a short stint in modeling as a teenager which led her to dancing at the Academy of Performing Arts in San Diego and training with Angie Bunch of Culture Shock fame. She graduated San Diego State university with a degree in Journalism and English literature in 2002. A year later she moved to Los Angeles and began appearing in music videos for acts like Velvet Revolver, 50 cent and most recently Monica. Her professional acting career began in 2005 with a guest starring role on Las Vegas opposite Josh Duhamel, and she has been appearing in television and films (For Colored Girls) ever since. Rayna has completed several independent movies in 2013 with Breaking Tradition being the first to release. She has appeared in campaigns for Nike, Virgin Mobile, Axe, Lexus, Coors and Mirinda (PepsiCo.) internationally.
