Rebekah Chaney - Biography

Rebekah Chaney made her directorial and writing debut with the critically-acclaimed short Waste Land, starring noted film actor and Academy Award nominee Ryan O'Neal. Waste Land garnered several awards--in the Boston International Film Festival, Action on Film Festival Long Beach, and the Salento International Film Festival--including Best Short, Best Director, and Best Actor.

As one of the few female directors working in the industry, Chaney continued to defy conventions when in 2012 she made her feature film directorial debut with her original screenplay Slumber Party Slaughter, becoming one of the few female directors working in the horror genre. Slumber Party Slaughter recently won Best Director at the Boston International Film Festival 2012 and was an Official Selection at the Phoenix Film Festival as well as Atlanta Film Festival.

She is the great-grandniece of the legendary silent film actor Lon Chaney, also known as the "Man with a Thousand Faces" who originated the roles of Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of the Opera, among many others in the silver screen. Chaney lives in Los Angeles, Califonia.
