Rey Hernandez - Biography

Rey Hernandez was born in Havana, Cuba; his family moved to Miami, Florida in 1980 in what was then called the Mariel Boat lift. Rey Hernandez and his family have made Miami their home ever since.

During his High School years, Rey's love for theater began to develop and as a result he began to work on many local theater and independent student films. His unique athleticism and desire for sports drove him away from theater and he quickly became very involved in sports such as Football, Wrestling, Judo and Ju-Jitsu. Rey's professionalism, passion, commitment and dedication to enhancing his craft have been at the forefront to all of his endeavors.

Rey attended Florida International University in Miami, Florida where he obtained his B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Rey's has always possessed a passion to help those less fortunate and in 1995, Rey joined the Police force in south Florida and has been serving and protecting those who cannot fend for themselves since.

Little did he know that his expertise as a S.W.A.T. Operator, Firearms expert and hand to hand combat instructor coupled with his desire for acting, would renaissance back in his life. In 2003 a local Miami agent reached out to Rey advising him that he be great various police detective roles sought after for Michael Bay's current production called "Bad Boys 2". Rey went to the audition and booked the role of TNT Zank. Rey was bit by the acting bug ever since and has since worked on film and T.V. projects such as; Burn Notice, Prison Break, Captain Phillips and G.I. Joe 2 just to name a few.

Rey's S.W.A.T. and martial arts background enables him to play very physically demanding roles and do many of his own stunts. Rey is extremely professional and has worked with many A-list actors and directors such as; Bruce Willis, Anthony Hopkins, Michael Bay, Michael Mann, Tom Hanks and Viola Davis.
