Roderick M. Spencer - Biography

He teaches screenwriting and directing at Emerson College's Los Angeles extension and at his alma mater, Colorado College. He is a founding member of Artists for a new South Africa, an organization of artists and activists first dedicated to the dismantling of apartheid in South Africa and more recently working to help the New South African democracy overcome the legacy of apartheid and the devastating impact of the AIDS pandemic. He is also a member of the board of The Unusual Suspects, an organization which brings theater training to children in group-home foster care, gang intervention programs and juvenile hall in Los Angeles.
