Rodrigo Rojas - Biography

Rodrigo Rojas was born and raised in Albany, New York to an actor and playwright-father and a political advocate and educator mother. His family played a significant role in introducing Rodrigo to film at an early age. They fostered his love for movies by frequenting the local cinema and drive-ins. It was during this time he learned to watch with an objective eye, dissecting each frame.

Movies like Pulp Fiction, The Grifters, Bananas and Brazil inspired Rodrigo's passion for acting. At 13, he enrolled in an eight-week summer program at the renowned Capital Repertory Theater in Albany called "Summer Theater at the Rep," where he went on to star as Bernardo in West Side Story. Roles like this one strengthened his desire to act; and by 17, he moved to LA to pursue his dream.

Rojas credits New York for inciting his passion, and Los Angeles for providing the foundation to hone his craft. Studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Hollywood exposed Rodrigo to the complexity and versatility of acting. He continues to work under world-renowned acting coach Larry Moss. Smaller television roles, commercial work, and print have led him to his more notable appearances, such as a recurring guest star on Modern Family, guest star on The Crossroads of History, and lead in The Big Grab.

Although acting has been his primary focus, Rodrigo values an understanding of all aspects of the industry. He sees his next great challenge in directing.
