Roope Olenius - Biography

Roope Olenius is one of the few Finnish actor-filmmakers who have studied and pursued film business in Hollywood. He is best known for his role in the horror-comedy Bunny the Killer Thing (2015) and his intense and starkly realistic short films Bro Code (2013) and Dia-Cide (2013).

After graduating with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the renowned New York Film Academy in 2013, Olenius has worked with some of the most celebrated Finnish directors on film and in television. Before his studies in New York and Los Angeles, he pursued professional careers in ice-hockey and heavy metal music in his home country.

In addition to acting, Olenius has distinguished himself as one of the aspiring Finnish filmmakers, who come outside the Finnish film school system. In 2013, he wrote, starred and produced three short films, which were played at international festivals and venues. In 2014, Olenius made his directorial debut in several commercial projects, which eventually landed him the project of Alaina Koski, a British-Finnish co-production, set to be filmed in 2016.

Olenius has his own production company, which is called Bright Fame Pictures. He is represented by the Nordic Talents Agency.
