Born in Buffalo, New York, Roy began his acting career while training to be a physician, for which he is board certified in Radiation Oncology, a cancer sub-specialty. His schooling includes a BA in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania, an MD from the University of Buffalo, and cancer training at UCLA. Roy has trained extensively with established Hollywood coaches Kate McGregor-Stewart, Joe Palese and Amy Lyndon. He was part of the cast of the Daytime Emmy-Nominated Stranger Adventures as well as nominated for Best Actor at the 2010 American International Film Festival for his work in Juche Rules. Roy also is highly active in producing through his company Resonant Entertainment and raising awareness for artists without health insurance through the organization Actors Helping Actors.
