Sara Serraiocco - Biography

Sara was born in Pescara, Italy and has cultivated her passion for cinema and dance since her childhood. After her graduation she moved to Rome, attending the prestigious "Centro Sperimentale DI Cinematografia". Her first role was in the Italian TV series RIS - Crimini Imperfetti. In 2013, Sara landed the lead role in the acclaimed film Salvo. Her work portraying Rita, a young blind girl, won several major awards including the Golden Globe given by foreign press to the Best Actress and the Nastro d'Argento for Newcomer of the Year. In 2014 she was chosen by director Liliana Cavani to play the role of Chiara of Assisi in the television mini-series Francesco. In 2015, Sara landed the lead role in the film Cloro, directed by Lamberto Sanfelice. The film was presented at the Sundance Film Festival by Robert Redford and at the 65th Berlinale (selection Generation). For this role Sara was nominated as best actress for the Globo d'oro award 2015. After this she was chosen by Enrico Pau to play the role of Tecla in the film Accabadora & during the same year landed the lead role in the movie La Ragazza Del Mondo, directed by Marco Danieli. In 2016 Sara was chosen as a European Shooting Star, winning the prestigious award as European newcomer of the year at the Berlinale Film Festival.
