Sasha Yelaun - Biography

Mr. Yelaun, born in Moldova in 1984, received his B.A. in psychology from Brandeis University and upon relocating to Los Angeles in 2007 received his M.F.A. from the New York Film Academy, after working at Touchstone Television/ABC at the Comedy/Drama Department, Paramount Studios, Jim Vicker's Stunt Department and P3 Update Magazine. He made appearances in several television shows and feature films including House, Secret Life of American Teenager, Grey's Anatomy, House, Desperate Housewives, Criminal Minds, and Stand-Off where he played a stunt double. Driven to forge his career in the movie business, Mr. Yelaun turned his focus to production. The start of his producing career began when he worked under the wings of Lewis Chesler, a Canadian Executive Producer for TV most well-known for his Hitchhiker series on HBO, and Marty Katz, the former VP of Disney. Mr. Yelaun began producing, casting, and location scouting for his own films. The first film he produced "Grace", he was able to close down a gate at LAX airport free of charge, and his second-film "A Relative Stranger" went on to win four awards and receive three nominations from film festivals worldwide. He produced several music videos for bands such as "Shytown," who perform regularly at venues such as the House of Blues on Sunset, Universal Studios and "The Tender Box" -who created the theme song for the animated series of the "Spectacular Spiderman." The release of the video "Crashing Down" was featured in Filter Magazine. He line-producing his first feature film Benjamin Troubles, a feature film from produced screenwriter Lee H. Ross. Sasha was involved in locking down deferred agreements for thirty-seven locations, wrangling and hiring nearly fifty crew members on a deferred deal basis and setting up vendor/production deals for the film. Mr. Yelaun has multiple projects in development including Our Harlem and L.A Minute. Earliest this year, he worked on Bereave starring Malcolm McDowell and Jane Seymour, which . He also served as an Executive Producer on "Three Holes Two Brads And a Smoking Gun," starring James Wilder, Joaquim De Almeida, Rudolf Martin and Richard Edson, currently navigating the film festival circuit.
