Sean H. Ferrer - Biography

For 35 years Sean Ferrer has worked in all aspects of motion picture development, production, post-production and marketing. After taking a short sabbatical to create the Audrey Hepburn Children's' Fund, Sean completed directing and producing a one-man feature documentary entitled, "Racehoss." Shot on HDTV, "Racehoss" is based on the highly successful biography by Albert Race Sample. Sean is also the Executive Producer of the award winning Australian mini series "Cloudstreet," based on the Australian best selling novel by Tim Winton. He also Executive Produced 'Living the Blues' a documentary about blues singers and musicians. Previously, Sean produced the motion picture, "Pretty Hattie's Baby" raising the $6 million budget independently. The film stars Alfre Woodard, Jill Clayburgh, Allison Elliot, Tess Harper and Charles Dutton. Directed by Ivan Passer, "Pretty Hattie's Baby" is set in the 1950's and chronicles the relationship between an African American mother and her white adopted daughter. Sean also produced "Stranger's Kiss," starring Victoria Tennant and Peter Coyote (Orion Pictures) and "Short Fuse," starring Art Garfunkel (Island Pictures). Sean's other production credits include: 1st AD. on "Blood In Blood Out," directed by Taylor Hackford; 2nd Unit U.P.M./ls1 AD. on "Christopher Columbus - The Discovery"; Executive Director on "Eye Of The Widow," starring F. Murray Abraham, Ben Cross, Richard Young and Annabel Schofield; 1st AD./2nd Unit Supervisor on "Old Gringo," directed by Luis Puenzo, starring Jane Fonda and Gregory Peck; Associate Producer on "lronweed," directed by Hector Babenco, starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep; Director of Post-Production, Marketing and Foreign Servicing for Keith Barish Productions on "Light of Day," starring Michael 1. Fox and "Running Man," starring Arnold Schwarzeneger. Other credits include: "Dreams of Gold" (Hemdale), "Growing Pains" (Disney), "They All Laughed" (starring Audrey Hepburn and John Ritter), "One Shoe For Murder (starring Robert Mitchum and Angie Dickinson), "lnchon" (Directed by Terence Young, Starring Lawrence Olivier and Jacqueline Bisset). Sean has also produced music videos for Sade ("Paradise") and Joan Jett ("Light of Day"). Sean directed the live broadcast and was a founding member of the "American Cinema A wards." Educated in Europe, Sean is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
