Shawn-Caulin Young - Biography

Shawn-Caulin Young was born in the son of jockey/race horse trainer Jim Young, and hard working 4-time cancer survivor, Julie Young. A product of the hard-working middle class, Young grew up as the only "white kid" in a predominately Latino\\\\Navajo Indian neighborhood in rural New Mexico. His father is mostly of Irish and English heritage, and his mother of Norwegian and Swedish descent.

Classically trained in England, Shawn-Caulin holds a B.F.A in Acting from the prestigious performing arts conservatory, The Hartt School (UHA). He is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA and current member of renowned and celebrated acting teacher Anthony Meindl's Master Class at AMAW. He has also trained/worked with such greats as Kenneth Branagh, Clifford Williams, Sebastian Graham-Jones, Ivana Chubbuck, Lesly Kahn and is an improv alum of The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade.

"Discovered" by Burrows/Boland Casting and director Robert Zemeckis during the casting process of The Yellow Submarine, Zemeckis selected him (second only to Cary Elwes) from an international talent pool to play famed Beatles's guitarist George Harrison. He has since been heavily considered for major roles in blockbuster films like The Hobbit, Flight, True Grit, John Carter, as well as such hit TV shows as justified, Touch, Longmire, Castle, among countless others.

He is the star of the 2012 Academy Award Considered film, The Escape. He has played roles on various hit TV shows/films including: Showtime's Ray Donovan (opposite Liev Schreiber & Elliott Gould), Marvel's superhero blockbuster, Thor (opposite Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins), award-winning indie drama This Is Our Time (opposite Eric Roberts), comedy How Sweet It Is (opposite Joe Piscopo), hit sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place (opposite Selena Gomez), as well as the Emmy Award winning soap opera, The Young & The Restless.

An experienced horse rider/stuntman, true collaborator, artist, and lover of life, he enjoys spending his spare time most coaching and mentoring children and young adults around the world in the art of acting.
