Shawn McBride was born in Savannah, Georgia and is of Irish/Italian decent. He now lives in Hawaii with his family. He is married to Dee McBride whom he has been with since 2002. They have one son, Shane McBride born on Shawn's birthday in 2006. He also has two step daughters, Karsyn and Taryn Davis. Shawn caught the acting bug growing up in Savannah which has become a popular filming destination. He has been able to pull from his wealth of real life experiences as a former U.S. Army 101st Airborne veteran, firefighter, and police officer in his acting. Since moving to Hawaii in 2012, Shawn has appeared on Hawaii 5-0 numerous times, My Own Guide to Hawaii, and was fortunate enough to work with his son on the sets of Godzilla and Untitled Cameron Crowe project. Shawn gives credit to his acting coach Wayne Ward for helping him explore and broaden his range as an actor. Shawn is now in for a web series School of Lies and the short film Morbid Saints. Most recently, he landed the role of Brian, a U.S. Army Special Forces Sniper in the film Popolo. When Shawn is not working he can be found in the blue waters of Hawaii, surfing, boogie boarding, snorkeling, etc with his son. They also enjoy biking, camping, skateboarding and hiking. Shawn is a active member of his church connect men's group and devout Christian.
