Sian Barbara Allen - Biography

Sian Barbara Allen was born Barbara Susan Pokrass in Reading, Pennsylvania, July 12, 1946. She studied at the Pasadena Playhouse (1964-1965). She appeared in "You'll Like My Mother" (1972) starring Patty Duke , Rosemary Murphy and Richard Thomas. For this role, Allen was nominated for the 1973 Golden Globe Award as "Most Promising New Actress". She is known to many fans of La famille des collines (1971) as "Jenny Pendleton", John-Boys first love. Sian was an active actress mainly in the 1970s, appearing on shows like Deux cent dollars plus les frais (1974), L'homme de fer (1967), Bonanza (1959), Gunsmoke (1955) and many others. The year 1973 found Sian nominated and awarded the Golden Globe for the most promising new actress. Sian Barbara Allen last role was in the La loi de Los Angeles (1986) episode, "Whatever Happened to Hannah?" playing the character of Diane Campbell. Unfortunately, for reasons that are seemingly unknown, Sian quit show biz, and has now gone on to live a more private life. Sian is the older sister of flash fiction author, editor and teacher Meg Pokrass. She has married and had a daughter, who has now apparently graduated college. She now lives in Southern California.
