Sophie was born to Mia Marcus an SAG Actress/Producer/Entrepreneur and Philip Alain Marcus a DP/Director/Producer. She is of French & American Jewish (father) and Filipino/Spanish with Ancestors from Spain (mother). Sophie was already hearing Creativity before she was even born. Her parents had a Production Office across the Chateau Marmont on Sunset Blvd. while Sophie's mom was pregnant, her parents was always surrounded by Artists, Directors, Producers in the Industry.
Sophie's father is Hollywood/French Director/ DP Director of Photography Philip Marcus who's worked with Michael Jackson ( We are the World), Bon Jovi (You give love a bad name) - DP, Nirvana ( In Bloom) - DP, James Brown (Director/DP) ~ to name a few.
She is the niece of Hollywood Graphic Artist/Set Decorator/Art Director Michael Marcus who's worked on such films as The Hunger Games, Duplex, Bruce Almighty, Spiderman, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, to name a few.
Sophie's Mom is also a Actress/Producer/Entrepreneur/Restauranteur - whose family owns fast-food restaurants on Oahu, Hawaii since 1986. And had also worked on several Hollywood films.
Sophie was born in Hawaii, while living in Los angeles, her parents decided she should be born in Hawaii, so she could always have a place to call home, but Sophie literally grew up traveling a lot as a child with her parents. Noting airplanes was her 2nd home. Mostly between Europe, Los Angeles,Las Vegas & Paris France. Father is originally from Paris France. Mother born in Manila but is from Hawaii.
Sophie attended both Private and Public Schools and home schooled.
Sophie's 1st gig came at 4 yrs old - she was discovered by a photo her father had of her while working on the set of a Independent Project. a Talent Manager seen her photo and a week later Sophie was modeling for Avon at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. Soon after Sophie began Musical Theater training at age 4.5 and did her 1st stage musical production was Aladdin. She then she signed with her first talent/modeling agency in Beverly Hills, but it was too difficult to go to all the auditions because her parents were also working in the industry and traveled often, so auditions was put on the back burner for awhile.
Sophie knew how to turn on a HD Video camera at age 2 by watching her father and tinkering with Production Equipment. By age 3 she was playing with her HD Video Camera, turning it on and shooting. By age 4 & 5 she was editing and mastered with effects to create her own short videos using an App and observing her father. By age 6 she was already storyboarding stories using her dog, toys and stuffed animals as her characters in her short videos. As an only child this is how she amuses herself.
But by age 5, she started working on Indie films/projects and videos along with her parents and following them on different location shoots . By age 7, she entered a New school, not knowing or having any friends at all, without her parents knowledge she auditioned for a school talent show . Soon after she was accepted into the school talent show. She sang "Do you want to build a Snowman" from the movie Frozen.
Sophie is active in studying acting, singing, playing the guitar. She loves school and is one of the top students in her grade level. She loves performing and her favorite subjects are science and math.
Sophie has 3 surfboards and enjoys going to the beach surfing with her friends. She learned to surf on Maui & Oahu, Hawaii, and also enjoys Boogie Boarding.
She spent her summers in Paris with her grandmother ( who is Parisian ) - she can speak french (intermediate level) and understands the culture. She is a member of Alliance Francaise and goes to French SchooL.
She loves to sing and making videos of herself singing, dancing, acting and sometimes including her parents and her dogs/stuffed animals in her videos.
Sophie has 2 dogs, a Bichon Maltese and a Shih Tzu ( a rescue ).
Sophie lives in Los Angeles.
