Susan Deming - Biography

Susan Deming is an alum of the famous Groundlings Sunday Company. She appears regularly at the Groundling Theatre in the "Crazy Uncle Joe Show" and "Cookin' with GAS" and will begin teaching improv at the theatre later this year. She recently wrapped a pilot for Showtime entitled "Not Penn Jillette" in which she appeared as Not Hillary Clinton opposite magician/comedian Penn Jillette. She has made several other live stage and televised appearances as Hillary Clinton.

Susan is a well-respected Los Angeles-based comedian who has appeared as a stand-up comic and an improv and sketch performer at such venues as The LA Improvisation, The Comedy Underground, The Comedy Union, Improv Olympic, The Bungalow Club, The Groundlings and Second City. As a writer, Susan has penned comedy for The Groundlings: "OOSunday" and "Sunday in the Sky with Diamonds"; Second City: "Suffer Little Children"; the sketch group Tito's Harmony: "Clouds of Meat", "Figgy Pudding" and "On the Nugget", and an adaptation of the Bizet opera "Carmen" for the Pasadena Pops Orchestra starring Rene Auberjonois, "Carmen Noir".

Susan is a graduate of the Second City Writing Conservatory, is currently pursuing the Certificate in Television Writing from UCLA Extension and is a member of the Writer's Boot Camp Think Tank. Susan's sitcom spec script, Arrested Development: "Casino Evil" was named a Quarter-finalist in the ScriptapaloozaTV competition. Her short film script, "Stockholm Syndrome," was named a Quarterfinalist in the American Gem Short Screenplay Competition. She is also staff writer for the comedy website, atworkandbored.com.

An accomplished producer, Susan has steered numerous successful projects, including the Tamagotchi and Barney CD-Roms for Bandai and Microsoft, respectively, Pythonline.com, the official website of Monty Python, a Tamagotchi video feature for kids, "Now Museum, Now You Don't", and a live televised variety show in Germany, "Broadway and Beyond". Susan is currently at work launching a content website dedicated to up-and-coming comedic voices at fufu.com. She is also an in-demand voice actor whose recent credits include the new "Streetwise" video game for Capcom and an anime pilot for Cartoon Network, "Zoid Genesis".

A graduate of Northwestern University's School of Speech, Susan appeared at such theatres as the Goodman and Wisdom Bridge in Chicago and as a repertory company member of East West Players, Los Angeles Repertory Company and Circus Theatricals in Los Angeles. Her numerous musical theatre credits include a successful run as Grizabella in the German company of "Cats". Susan made her film directorial debut this summer with the short satire, "Purple Bins", which is currently making festival rounds.
