Tobias Jelinek - Biography

Tobias Jelinek is an American actor raised in Santa Barbara, California. He attended high school at Laurel Springs in Ojai, California where he studied acting and theater. Growing up, he performed in local theater and received his professional break at 15 when a Disney scout saw him in a stage production of Grownups. The encounter lead to his first film role as Jay in Disney's classic Hocus Pocus with Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Tobias attended Bennington College in Vermont before moving to Los Angeles full-time to pursue an acting career. In 2007, he starred in the smash hit Point Break Live! as Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) touring Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. In 2010, Jelinek made his debut television appearance in Kings By Night, a comedy pilot for Spike TV. In 2011, he guest starred in the NBC Civil War pilot Reconstruction and had recurring guest star appearances on Comedy Central's Pretend Time with Nick Swardson. In 2012, he starred in Funny or Die hit The Last Straw directed by Bored To Death's Anna Dokoza.

In 2013, he had a breakout guest lead role on TNT's Southland finale and starred in the award-winning Indy feature The Golden Scallop starring Game of Thrones' James Cosmo. In 2014, he made guest appearances on Shameless, The Young and Restless, and had a supporting role in thriller The Possession of Michael King.

Most recently Tobias starred in his first lead role as Atum Vine in the feature film Fire City directed by Oscar Winner Tom Woodruff Jr., due for release summer 2015.
