Although Traci Toguchi made her film debut at age 12 in The Karate Kid II (as the young girl who was ringing the bell during the storm), she already had seven years of experience in commercials, modeling, and singing. Toguchi, of Okinawan and Japanese descent, won several talent competitions as a child and teenager, culminating in being named Miss Hawaii in 1995.
Toguchi still models, and she has appeared in a few more movies, but her main focus (as of 2008) is music, and she has recently released an album on her own label. Toguchi is also active in various community service projects.
