Ty Chase - Biography

Ty was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Her love of performing arts began at a very young age, studying ballet, acting at a local performing arts school, and starring in many musical theatre productions. However, by age 10, Ty decided to focus solely on her classical ballet training, and went on to star in over 100 performances of The Nutcracker as well as many other ballets. After graduating high school, Ty's love for acting and comedy reemerged and she began studying at The Groundlings Improv school in LA, followed by a move to New York City. There she studied Meisner and Grotowski work at The Deena Levy Theatre Studio as well as more improv work at The Upright Citizens Brigade. While in New York City, Ty landed a guest starring role in 7 episodes of the acclaimed CollegeHumor.com webseries "Jake and Amir" in the "Girlfriend" episodes. Ty returned to her native Los Angeles where she has consistently booked work, starring in the films such as "The Last Great Romantic Comedy," "Septenary Kill," and "Forward," in addition to several commercial and promos. Ty became a certified yoga instructor and signed with one of the best sports + fitness modeling agencies in LA with whom she booked campaigns for Asics as well as other top brands. One year after filming the "Girlfriend" episodes of "Jake and Amir," College Humor asked Ty to come back to NYC to film another episode of "Jake and Amir" called "Graveyard." Ty has recently signed with Clear Talent Group's commercial department. She has also just auditioned and was accepted into The Groundlings Improv professional track. She has started writing comedy parodies that are being released on collegehumor.com, funnyordie.com, and on YouTube.com.
