Zilah Mendoza - Biography

Zilah Mendoza was raised in Los Angeles by her father MIchael W. HIll who is a community activist and social worker. She has performed nationally originating lead roles such as Ana in Lisa Loomer's hit Living Out, Matilde in Sara Rhul's Pulitzer nominated The Clean House, and Electricidad in Luis Alfaro's adaptation of Electra, Electricidad featured on the cover of American Theatre Magazine. She has garnered national recognition for her New York performances, receiving an OBIE, a Garland, a Lortel nod, and other awards for her portrayal of Ana. She has received numerous back stage awards for her work in Los Angeles. Zilah has been involved in the Theatre Arts since she was 8 years old and her first professional performance was at LAAT now LATC. She is proud to be a Los Angeles based theatre actress, an activist and enjoys using her craft on screen and as a narrator of audio books.
